Review

Since its maiden voyage in June 2019, the Elite has set the bar for luxury travel with eco-credentials in the Galapagos. Like her sister ship – the Endemic – the Elite is owned, operated and built by an Ecuadorian team boasting decades of experience in the tourism, conservation and maritime industry. The result is beautiful twin-hulled catamaran with bountiful space for passengers and the very best there is to offer in terms of comfort and amenities; with knowledgeable staff who care passionately about the Islands. As with the Endemic, the cabin size is remarkable, at nearly 400sq. ft2 per cabin!

Deck layout

The Elite has 3 decks. The Main Deck has a large briefing room at the bow (front), equipped with comfy seats, a screen for presentations and a library area. Centrally located are 4 suites (cabins). Unlike the Endemic, the front two suites have dual-aspect windows. Towards the stern is the opulent dining area and lounge, with panoramic balconies on both sides. Outside is the access point to the ship’s two panga (dinghy) boats, along with a snack bar and drinking water station. The Upper Deck contains 4 suites plus the single cabin. The 2 suites on each side can interconnect, if required. There is a sundeck on both the stern and bow. Finally, the Skydeck offers an ideal place to relax and enjoy the views. The Skydeck features a Whirlpool hot-tub, sun-loungers, outdoor bar and a restroom. This also doubles as an al fresco dining area for BBQs.

Itineraries

The Elite has four different itineraries: 1 x 3-night, 1 x 4-night and 2 x 7-night expeditions. The longer expeditions start & finish from San Cristobal Island; whereas the two shorter itineraries run between San Cristobal and Baltra.

Cabins

The Elite has eight ‘Golden Suite’ 35m2 cabins, with either King bed of twin bed formations available in all. The cabins can interconnect if required, ideal for families. All cabins have wall-to-wall glass doors opening to a private balcony. There is also a single cabin (14m2) that would be suitable for a solo traveller or a child. All cabins are equipped with air-conditioning, en-suite with shower, wardrobes & drawers, safe-deposit box, sofa, desk, dressing gowns and in-cabin speakers – to ensure you don’t miss any activities!

Features & inclusions

All land and water activities, led by the on-board experienced naturalist, are included. Snorkelling equipment, wetsuits and fins are also provided. The Elite has paddleboards and kayaks available for use. The kayaks are transparent, allowing you to see the wildlife frolicking beneath you! All meals are included and served buffet-style; and snacks are provided after each activity. Water stations provide limitless drinking water for guests, who each get a drinking flask to keep. These water filtration stations have reduced plastic bottle usage by approx. 25,000 bottles per year.

Cavernous cabins, a beautiful yacht and eco-friendly.

Cost…but you do get what you pay for!
