Review

One of the less expensive 5 star hotels in the city, the Hotel Diplomatic is a good choice for those wanting a little less bustle during their stay in the city. The hotel is well located right in the heart of the city, and it offers all of the facilities that you would look for in a top flight hotel. All in all, while it may lack the grandeur of the Hyatt or the Sheraton, this is a good option for those on a slimmer budget.

Located a few blocks away from the Plaza Independencia, the Hotel Diplomatic has a good location and most of the rooms have good views out to the Andes range that runs to the west of the city.

As you enter the main hall there is a sense of grandeur with the marble cladding and central chandelier. They have used good quality fittings throughout and plenty of pink marble, which works well. On top of this, they also have a good restaurant that serves breakfast lunch and diner in a quiet and intimate setting.

The rooms in the Hotel Diplomatic are simple and stylishly designed and make good use of the views out across the city with large windows and aspect. All of them feature air-conditioning, wifi and satellite television. On the roof, the hotel has installed a swimming pool and a fitness centre that features a sauna, gym and Pilates/spinning rooms.

On the whole, as mentioned above, we are fans of the place as it offers really good value for money while no scrimping on the extras…good for a couple of nights at least.

Great value, good location, good service/ facilities

Lacks atmosphere
